My first listen of this song was that it was really calm but it isn't what i usually listen to, It is played on a piano and is very soft, it is quite a sad song and you can tell this by the lyrics and the tempo. It is similar to many other songs for example 'angel' by Sarah Mclachlan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1GmxMTwUgs
This song is about her brother going to afghanistan to fight the war, you can tell she is deeply upset by it by the way the song is really calm to show her emotions, i would describe this genre as acoustic.
